# Batch I Worker A: 5-29 overlay reconciler read-only audit Project root: `/mnt/Data1T/mnote-worktrees/0525-i-worker-a-5-29-overlay-reconciler-readonly` You are a read-only audit worker. Do not modify files, do not run formatters that write files, do not commit, and do not clean unrelated files. ## Goal Audit the next smallest safe extraction boundary around editor overlay reconciliation after the existing splits: - `editor_runtime/dom_selection.rs` - `editor_runtime/overlays.rs` - `editor_runtime/editor_focus.rs` - `editor_runtime/block_hover_state.rs` - `editor_runtime/block_menu_overlay.rs` - `editor_runtime/block_dnd.rs` Focus only on: - `sync_editor_overlay_state` - `try_sync_editor_overlay_state` - their immediate callers - the signal groups they close/reset ## Questions to answer 1. Is there a pure helper smaller than moving the whole `sync_editor_overlay_state` / `try_sync_editor_overlay_state` pair? 2. Which state transitions must stay in `lib.rs` because they are Leptos signal orchestration? 3. Would a small struct such as `OverlayCloseSet` / `EditorOverlaySyncResult` reduce risk, or would it add unnecessary abstraction? 4. What exact module/function signature should Codex implement next, if any? 5. What tests/smoke should Codex run after the implementation? ## Required checks Run only read-only commands: ```bash git status --short cargo check --manifest-path rust/spikes/leptos-tiptap-spike/Cargo.toml ``` If `cargo check` is blocked by missing `reference-code/`, report that instead of retrying repeatedly. ## Required output - `modified_files`: must be `[]` - recommended extraction slice or explicit "do not extract yet" - files/functions inspected - verification commands and results - risks / do-not-move list - `process-handoff.md`, `process-handoff.json`, `result.json`, and `final.md` through the runner
